- HCFC Phaseout
On September 21, 2007, parties to the Montreal Protocol overwhelmingly agreed to accelerate the phaseout of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) to protect the ozone layer and combat climate change with adjustments beginning in 2010 to production and consumption allowances for developed and developing countries. The new schedule for Article 2 (Developed) countries is:
