We are an active member of the Mobile Air Conditioning Society, and a founding member of IMAC—a collaborative multi-stake holder initiative including many global automotive manufacturers, national and international governmental agencies (such as the EPA) and non-governmental institutions. Launched in April 2004, the IMAC research program is an ambitious effort to deliver dramatic increases in energy-efficiency and substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from the operation of motor vehicle air conditioning systems.

R-134a is the single refrigerant approved by all automobile air conditioning manufacturers worldwide for servicing R-134a vehicles and retrofitting older R-12 systems. DuPont continues to look for innovative ways to service existing R-12 vehicles that will enable the AC system to run while reducing the environmental impact. We continue to work closely with today’s top vehicle and AC system manufacturers to develop high-performance, sustainable cooling solutions.
